Volunteering at the Fair
Jo and I, along with many others, volunteer to help at the Fayette County Fair. It is important to continue the fair for the youth of the county. 4-H, FFA, and Open Class exhibitors need an environment to grow in and show their projects. We hope our contributions will promote this environment. We enjoy our time helping at the fair along with others. I take many photos and share them with the fair and the 4-H County leader. It is our pleasure to insure others will have the Fayette County Fair to grow up with. We hope you will see through our photos what we see every year at the fair.

Celebrating our Freedom on the 4th of July
The 4th of July means Freedom, Family, Friends, and Fun for everyone. We get together and share our enjoyment of Red Tractors. We like all colors, however, these are the ones we grew up with as kids. Fun to see the younger ones driving them and getting as much enjoyment as we do. Despite the hot weather we had a nice day and an evening filled with good food, visiting, and some great fireworks. We enjoy this get together and look forward to the next 4th of July Celebration.

Some Midsummer Skies and Fun
Our skies tempted us with rain, however, it just would not let loose through late June. We always hoped and prayed it would rain but with no avail. Our Finches and Hummers returned to the feeders and were fun to watch on the warm summer days. This time of year always gives us some small town parades to attend. We took our 1939, F20 Farmall to the Maynard Days Parade and Payton was eager to ride with me on the tractor. She even had the wave down pat and had a fun time greeting the crowd along the parade route.

Our New Yard Rock - Rocks!!!
Our new yard rock came from friends, Chuck and Judy. We loaded the rock on our trailer and brought it home with much care. We found the ideal location and prepared the area for the rock to remain. The Blast Master, Jim, arrived and proceeded to do his artistic work on our yard rock. The process is quite extensive and involved to have the resulting lettering turn out just right. The stenciling needed to be located correctly, then the letters pealed away. The sand blasting did its work cutting ever so accurately into the rock. Painting the letters insured our rock will be ours for a long time. Then the remaining stencil was removed and the glue washed off. We then landscaped around the rock to give it more character and beautify its location.

Memorial Weekend Fun
It was great to be home with family and friends for Memorial Day. We had a delicious BBQ at Lynn and Fred's. Celebrated Floyd's Birthday and what a cake they made for him. I of course liked the tractor on the cake. We helped Steve put in some more white vinyl fence around his home. Sure looks nice. Our wild flowers are in their second season. Had some good growth and color. Next year will be a critical year as we will burn the ditch banks in the spring. This will help eliminate some unwanted growth and keep the flowers growing.
