A Birthday to Celebrate

Jo bowled for many years with Ardene while in Forest City. Their team always had a good time and also bowled pretty good. They traveled to State Tournaments together and bowled league at the Super Bowl in Forest City. Many good times were had and many laughs along the way. We were glad to be able to celebrate her 90th Birthday and recall all the good times together with the team.

Surprise Visit

We had a surprise visit from our daughter, Ashley, and granddaughter, Sabrina. We had strong winds that day, so being outside was a challenge for the little girl to stay on her feet. Jo had fun giving Sabrina rides on the little red wagon. Steve and Liv joined us for lunch to spend some time together and their meeting Sabrina. We added a new quilt board in our building. A friend of ours painted this for us, so we display it with pride with our tractors. Hey Grandma, come sit beside me on the kitchen floor.

Race Day in Kansas City

The Sprint Cup Race brought sunny skies and a fast track. Our day began with our track passes getting us on the track, the infield, and along pit road. We spent some time at the inspection area to see cars brought in and then having to make modifications if they did not pass. Austin Dillon's first Cup Race brought his car into inspection with lots of curious spectators watching. Of course Carl Edwards is a favorite of ours. He is well spoken and by the way leading in points in the Chase. This race we stood along the track to get pictures and view all the drivers as they rode around the track to wave at the crowd. Fun to be right in the mix with them. Pre-race brought a fly over by the Hornets. Then a good race with Jimmy Johnson winning.

Off to the NASCAR Races

We met Darrell and Judi at Kansas City for the NASCAR Races. We had great weather for the events and enjoyed our time together. We have the tour of haulers go right by our camp site. Fun to see them and watch the kids get them to honk. Had the inaugural night race at Kansas City with ARCA having a good race that evening. Got Larry McRenolds autograph and visited with Monica, Miss Sprint Cup. Fun to meet her.

Move That Bus!

We had visitors during the time that Extreme Makeover was building a house in our area. Gloria surprised us so we joined her for supper one evening. The Extreme Makeover house was just west of us so we were able to see the week's activities develop. Had the chance to get together with Marilyn and Tim, Steve and Arlys, and Lynn and Fred before heading to Florida. The fall weather was warm and sunny to get together with everyone. The Kaune girls needed the sun hats!

Celebrating the Kaune Kampout

The 20th annual Kaune Kampout was held this year and a special award was presented to Tim and Marilyn for having perfect attendance being at all 20. We had fun around the campfire and spending time with family. Always look forward to the omelets on Sunday morning, however, this was the second year in a row that rain forced us to go to the local cafe for their famous "mess" and "half mess" breakfast. Looking forward to next years Kampout.
