Escape to Nature - Lake Trafford, FL

The Lake Trafford area is home to many different species of wildlife. Due to the dry conditions, the area is affected by low water levels and this limits the access to canals for many of the creatures. The red-bellied turtles were aware of our presence in their territory and would escape to safety in the water. The alligators are very elusive and the females protect their young in the water's edge of the canal. Look closely at the alligator swimming close to the lake's edge and see if you can locate the larger alligator on shore. The park was alive with wildlife and our patience gave us a view to enjoy.
