Had a beautiful sunny day to travel through the Florida Keys. We crossed Alligator Alley and The Big Cypress National Preserve to arrive at the Keys that anchor the southernmost tip of the continental US. From the largest island, Key Largo, to the tip of Key West, the Keys, made up of more than 100 islands, are linked by 42 bridges scattered along the 126 mile, historic US 1, including the spectacular 7 mile bridge. The diminishing Key deer are found primarily on Big Pine and No Name Keys in the National Key Deer Wildlife Refuge. These tiny animals weigh 25 - 90 pounds and grow to a height of only 26 to 32 inches. We had the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable sunset, which the Keys are known for, along mile marker 82 at the Lorelei Restaurant and Cabana.
