Rainy Day One on Cabot Trail

The Cabot Trail in north Nova Scotia is one of the most scenic drives in the world. The highway is carved into the sides of mountains that rise above the water of the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. The rains persisted this day as they approached from the west. Rounding the top of Cape Breton Island and rising into the Cape Breton Highlands National Park the rain subsided leaving in our view some rainbows reaching into the waters. The drive is 300 kilometres in length and takes a full 8 hours to drive. To really enjoy the scenery at the view points we stayed at the Celtic Mist Bed and Breakfast to return the next day and enjoy the sunshine along the coast.
