900 pound bronze statue of Dale as his hometown knew him. The main street of Kannapolis is known as Idiot Circle where teenagers would drive around the circle perfecting their left turn. Dale's Mom said he probably had more laps at Idiot Circle than on the track. Car Town is where Dale was raised among the streets named after many manufacturers of cars. We went on to tour DEI and JR Motorsports in the area.
