West Quoddy Head Light

The West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is located on the easternmost point of the US. The lighthouse is used to this day. The beach area of West Quoddy is made of small polished stones. As the waves would come ashore you could hear the rattle of the stones as the water retreated into the bay. A bald eagle stood watch over the point. We built our own Inuit on the shore. The Inuit is an Indian symbol representing different meanings, one being "safe travel" to those traversing the land. We saw many of these in our travel from the Great Northwest, across Canada from British Columbia to Nova Scotia and along the coast of Maine. We wanted to share our safe travel with others following us.
