The open class livestock show included Simmental and Brahma. The facility was very nice and a
great venue for housing and showing the breeding stock.
FFA members were also showing their animals with the young calves being led by the youngsters. The exhibitors took great pride in showing and displaying their animals and advertising their ranches. The Rio
Grande Valley Livestock Show was started in 1939 with this year being the 69
th annual show. The Livestock Show supports 4-H and Future Farmers of America high school students. Average attendance is 160,000 over the 10 day event.
