We traveled across the Gulf Coast heading to Texas. It was good to be back on the road again and see different areas of the country. Parts of Louisiana still showed damage from Hurricane Katrina. Many of the state parks and rest areas along I-10 were closed for repair. We felt closer to home as we crossed the majestic Mississippi River. One stretch had a 20 mile double bridge that crossed open bayous. Arriving in Houston, we enjoyed visiting Jo's niece, Laura, and her friends David and Alicia for an evening dinner out.

Happy to see you are staying down where it is warm. Iowa, as I am sure you have heard is having a cold, windy, snowy winter and it looks like a late Spring. The tulips are going to have a heck of a time getting up through the snow and could freeze their little leaves off. :0) You 2 are looking good :0) Leila
