Bonjour! We ferried across the St. Lawrence River from Levis to Quebec. Quebec is carved into the bluffs overlooking the St. Lawrence River. It is the capital of the province, and the only walled city north of Mexico. The city is profoundly French. There are many shops with a board walk leading around the city wall to La Citadelle, at the centre of the National Battlefields Park. Quebec is representative of the 17th through the 19th centuries. On our visit, the International Music Competition was being held. This included a parade of bands, bag pipes and military groups from Europe, the USA and Canada. The stone wall and building architecture are impressive to see.
Merci Beau coup!
